Dr Adre Lourens
Dr Adre Lourens obtained her MBChB degree at Stellenbosch University in 2006. She completed her internship at Tshepo Themba Hospital, Mpumalanga, and her community service at Abraham Esau Hospital in Calvinia. She worked in ER and the Infectious Diseases Clinic at Paarl Hospital before starting her postgraduate studies at Stellenbosch University in 2012. She obtained her MMed Microbiol Path and FC Path (SA) qualifications in 2016. Between 2016 and 2018 she was a senior lecturer at Stellenbosch University and a consulting microbiologist at the National Health Laboratory Service in Tygerberg Hospital, Western Cape. She joined Ampath in July 2018 as a clinical microbiologist based in Potchefstroom. Dr Lourens has a special interest in vector-borne and tropical diseases.
