Dr Claudia Nunes

Dr Nunes is a Haematopathologist at Ampath in Gqeberha (Southern Region). She completed her specialist training at the University of the Witwatersrand, where her MMed research investigated the genomic landscape of aplastic anaemia, myelodysplastic neoplasms (MDS), and MDS/MPN overlap disorders in a South African setting. Her work involves coagulation, bone marrow morphology, flow cytometry, and molecular testing, with a special interest in the genomics of MDS and MDS/MPN. She is also interested in the application of precision medicine, using genomic insights alongside traditional methods to improve diagnosis and patient care.
