Dr Devina Govender

Dr Devina Govender obtained her undergraduate medical degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2003. She then obtained her FC Path from the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2012.  She worked in trauma and internal medicine in many hospitals in KZN, in both the private and state sectors, before and after specialising. She also gained experience in HIV research and was the recipient of the prestigious Fogarty Ellison Scholarship to the USA, nominated by Prof Abdul Karim, who led South Africa in the COVID pandemic. She worked at a private laboratory in Durban as a consultant for a few years before joining Ampath in 2018. She currently works in Ampath KZN as a senior chemical pathologist.
