Dr Kathy-Anne Strydom is a pathologist specialising in medical microbiology, currently working in the Microbiology Department of the Ampath National Reference Laboratory in Centurion, Gauteng. She graduated from the University of Pretoria’s medical school in 2008, where she also completed her MMed and FC Path in Medical Microbiology with distinction in 2015. She maintains her affiliations with the University of Pretoria as an extraordinary lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology. She has a particular interest in antibiotic resistance in Gram negative pathogens, as well as the use of molecular diagnostics in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
