Dr Mageshree Naicker

Dr Mageshree Naicker completed her Masters in Medical Microbiology degree and Fellowship in Medical Microbiology at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Her experience includes eight years in the academic clinical microbiology service, training at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and King Edward VIII Hospital in KZN; thereafter working as a consultant at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and University of Pretoria. Dr Naicker is currently a senior clinical microbiologist at Ampath Laboratories in Durban and has spent over four years in the private laboratory sector. Prior to specializing, she worked in anaesthetics and as a research clinician at the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA).
Dr Naicker is a qualified pharmacist who has worked in both the private and public sectors.
She is passionate about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programs. Currently a member of several hospital committees related to Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Dr Naicker is committed to the fight against AMR.
Dr Naicker is available to consult on all aspects of clinical microbiology, laboratory diagnostics, appropriate treatment, antibiotic stewardship and IPC measures.
