Dr Phumlani Meyiwa

Dr Phumlani Meyiwa is a specialist Anatomical Pathologist working for Ampath laboratories in Pietermaritzburg.

He obtained his undergraduate medical degree (MBChB) from Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine (University of Natal) in 2003.  

He did his internship in 2004 at Pietermaritzburg Complex Hospitals (Greys, Northdale and Edendale Hospitals) and Community service in 2005 at Greytown Hospital.

In 2006 Dr Meyiwa secured a Registrar training post in the department of Anatomical Pathology at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and qualified as a specialist Anatomical Pathologist (FC Path - Anat) in 2010 at the College of Medicine of South Africa  

Dr Meyiwa joined Ampath Pietermaritzburg in 2011. He is a general Pathologist and participates in Pietermaritzburg surgical, radiology and pathology multidisciplinary team (MDT), breast MDT and Head & Neck cancer MDT.
