Dr Rendani Takalani Mafuyeka

Dr. Rendani Takalani Mafuyeka completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria, where she completed a BSc (Human Genetics) degree in 2000 and MBChB degree in 2006. After the internship and a community service she pursued her postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria, obtaining an MMed (Pathology) Medical Virology degree and FC Path (Clinical Virology) from the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2016. In addition, she completed a Diploma in HIV Management from the CMSA in 2013 and certificates in Business and Management Development from GIBS and Financial Management from UCT online. She spent 5 years working as a consultant pathologist in the department of Medical Virology, at the National Health Laboratory Services. Since October 2021, Dr. Mafuyeka has been part of the Department of Molecular Biology at the National Reference Laboratory of Ampath Laboratories in Centurion. She has a particular interest in HIV, with a focus on diagnosis and drug resistance.
