I practiced as a Clinical haematologist at King Edward Hospital from 1996 until 2008. During this time I had a 2 year stint in SANBS as a Lead consultant overseeing specialised donation services & routine donations.

In 2010 I joined the ranks of AMPATH haematology as a Pathologist with the cumulative clinical & blood banking experience strengthening my function within the team.

I believe that collaborating benefits patient care & that diagnostics start with good history taking & clinical examination

Another fulfilling aspect of my position involves mentoring trainee haematologists in morphology, ensuring access to the wealth of material that AMPATH accumulates.

In 2023 I obtained my Certificate in Patient Blood Management with distinction (UFS). My current interest revolves around patient blood management & positioning AMPATH to support patient advocacy & the clinical domain.
