Dr Victor Yazbek

Dr. Victor Yazbek is a histopathologist with a career spanning nearly two decades, marked by a deep commitment to diagnostic excellence and collegial collaboration.

He trained under the mentorship of Prof. Bruce Middlecote and Prof. Cathy Beukes in the Department of Anatomical Pathology at the University of the Free State, qualifying in 2007.

He joined Ampath Bloemfontein in January 2009 and currently serves as the Managing Pathologist for the Free State region. His main interests lie in uropathology and soft tissue tumour pathology, but his expertise extends across skin, gastrointestinal, gynaecologic and digital pathology.

Respected by his peers as a trusted source in assisting with challenging and complex cases, he also enjoys teaching opportunities with registrars at the NHLS.

At the heart of his work is a strong belief in the value of close clinicopathologic dialogue - building relationships with clinicians that are grounded in open communication, trust, and a shared commitment to patient care.
